No one took a backward step and they didnt have a fucking clue what to do cos their bully boy numbers normally see em thru.

There were 4 coach loads plus a half size coach that stopped off in Wakefield after that game in 1990. In the ground Leeds told them to go to Wakefield. They split into two pubs by the station. The only Leeds to appear were the Wakefield lot. We'd driven back to Wakefield after the game to drop a couple of mates off so that they could avoid any trouble at Leeds Station!

You are not wrong Eastside. Some West Ham were ' invited' back to Wakefield station after the game. Couple of coach loads patiently took over the nearest pub to the station, ( Elephant and Castle) sent several search parties out, including to their pub. No one wanted to extend the invitation.

I remember the high pitched " we are leeds" chanting from that game it really riled them up not that they needed much. Proper hostile atmosphere up there in those days I can remember them trying to smash the gate down aswell, heard a roumour after the game a few west ham coaches detoured to Wakefield for a meet and greet with the locals but it was a long time ago so I could be wrong!

what a day out that was. just about perfect really- long old walk back from the ground tho- plenty of snipers on the ay and then a massive runaround ahead of us at the station.
we are all buzzing and positive howevre in the cold light of day afterness we have to be more clinical in front of goal and frankly much better defensively if we think we can crack on - not a bad week and a bit of west ham, to be fair!

I woke up with a cheeky smile on my face today (that's what she said) a nice feeling. Watched a short highlights vid and after Antonio scored the commentator screamed ''West Ham fans are on the pitch, they're getting rugby tackled'' which made me lol a little. Wtf?
Beat the Bees next week and we will go into the break sitting pretty in the top 6. Special mention to Benrahma who I thought was a standout, along with Bowen.

My first season of going regular was 85/86 and I thought we just normally won most weeks ….. until the real West Ham kicked in the season after. This team/squad is the best we’ve had since then by far, genuinely hard working, play good football, quality across the team and have no worries we’re not a top half side. Love Moyes and I haven’t genuinely really liked a manager since Johnny Lyall

Moyes is on the verge of joining the Lyall-Greenwood club, leaving our other managers in the second-rate category.
Just needs to win something. Even the smallest of the competitions we're in will do. The League Cup.

I don't think I've enjoyed being a WH supporter so much, ever. I followed the 85 season on teletext, so didn't truly witness it.
I keep expecting it to implode as it has so many times in the past, but we keep winning. It's as if our present manager and squad don't understand that we expect heartbreak and disappointment.
Long may it continue.
